Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Website

I played a pivotal role in the complete overhaul of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s website, guiding the direction of its build by a third-party development team. While I wasn’t responsible for the entire build, my contributions were essential to the project’s success. Here’s an overview of my involvement:

Team Selection

I was a major contributor to the meetings where we chose the development team that would build the site.

CMS Decision

I played a key role in determining which CMS to use, considering options like Joomla, Drupal, WordPress, and MODX. We ultimately chose MODX due to its popularity in the U.S. for security and its robust management capabilities.

Wireframes and UI/UX Design

I collaborated closely with the external developers to develop wireframes and the overall UI/UX design, ensuring it met Buchanan’s needs and standards.

Content Migration

I assisted in migrating the content and re-editing all attorney photos to fit the new layout, ensuring consistency and quality across the site.

File Structure and Naming Conventions

I outlined and built the new file structure and naming conventions for all necessary areas. This was crucial in resolving a major pain point—finding files among the thousands in their system.

After the website was completed, I took on the role of webmaster. In this capacity, I was responsible for maintaining all updates to the site and developing most of the major enhancements over time. This involved ongoing work to ensure the site remained secure, up-to-date, and aligned with Buchanan’s evolving needs.

The result was a streamlined, user-friendly, and secure website that not only met the firm’s current needs but was also positioned for future growth and scalability.
