Angry Birds – A Friend in Need

For this project, I aimed to reference one of the popular paintings by Cassius Coolidge. With so many Pop Culture characters having taken their turn at this iconic table, I decided to give it a shot as well. The piece gained recognition, and Adobe Systems even featured it on their blog and social media outlets in January 2013.

My personal challenge was to create the entire image in Adobe Illustrator, despite knowing that some elements, like chairs, cards, and lighting, could be more easily done in Photoshop and imported into Illustrator. Thanks an older tutorial by Marcos Torres, which also inspired the idea, I successfully completed the challenge. The result was a piece created 100% in Adobe Illustrator.
