BIPC.com – Lateral Recruiting Page
The HR department at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney sought an upgraded Lateral Recruiting page for their website, initially envisioning a simple series of text boxes. I proposed a more sophisticated solution that minimized the need for manual editing. My design allowed for both manual sorting and automatic sorting by location, and included fields for prerequisite experience levels, position descriptions, bar admissions, and required documents for submission.
While all applications ultimately redirect to the same page, the challenge lay in creating a dropdown list of all office locations that would auto-update. This list also needed logic to add comma delimiters correctly, end with an ampersand, and include an override option for “all locations.”
A significant achievement of this project was the social media sharing section. Each sharing option was programmed to open a new dialog box with the proper tracking information and page anchor. This ensured that user interactions were recorded, and users were directed to the relevant position, regardless of their reading location on the page. Achieving the correct functionality for each social media platform required a period of trial and error, but the end result was a seamless and efficient system.
Current experimentation with AI for this task has made the process much faster, but the original implementation was a testament to problem-solving and attention to detail. The upgraded page not only met but exceeded the department’s expectations, providing a streamlined and user-friendly experience for potential lateral recruits.
